Privacy Policy

The short version: the Wispframe app collects nothing. No telemetry, no analytics, no crash reports, no account. Your recordings never leave your Mac. This policy explains that in the detail the law requires, and covers the little that this website processes.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller for any processing described here is Szirtes Dániel egyéni vállalkozó (a Hungarian sole proprietor / egyéni vállalkozó; tax ID / adószám 69538711-2-43), registered seat 1116 Budapest, Tó utca 14., Hungary, reachable at info@wispframe.com.

2. The app

2.1 Your recordings stay local

Everything the app captures — screen video, system audio, microphone audio, camera footage — is processed on your Mac and written to files on your Mac. The app has no upload capability, no cloud storage, and no server-side processing. Background removal runs on your Mac's Neural Engine or GPU; nothing is sent anywhere for inference. The same goes for automatic face blurring: face detection runs on-device (Apple Vision), so the faces you redact are never seen by anyone but you.

2.2 No telemetry

The app contains no analytics SDK, no usage tracking, no crash reporting service, and no advertising identifiers. We do not know how often you record, what you record, or whether you use the app at all.

2.3 Network use

The app never contacts a server of ours — there is none. Your Pro entitlement is read from the App Store receipt already on your Mac; nothing is sent anywhere to verify it. Payment is handled entirely by Apple (the App Store / StoreKit is the merchant of record for the in-app purchase) — we never see your card number.

The only outbound connections the app ever makes are optional model downloads. The first time you use Subtitler, Enhance, or ONNX background removal, the corresponding open-source model is fetched from Hugging Face and cached locally under ~/.cache/huggingface. That request carries no identifier of you and no information about your recordings, and it does not happen again once the model is cached. If you never use those features, the app makes no network requests at all. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

2.4 macOS permissions (TCC)

The app asks macOS for permissions only when a feature needs them:

• Screen Recording — required to capture the screen at all. Granted and revocable in System Settings.
• Microphone — only if you toggle mic recording.
• Camera — only if you use webcam or iPhone picture-in-picture.

These permissions are enforced by macOS itself; the app can never access these devices without your explicit grant, and revoking them in System Settings takes effect immediately.

3. This website

3.1 Analytics without cookies

wispframe.app uses Vercel Analytics, which are cookie-free and do not track you across sites. They record aggregated, anonymized page-view and performance metrics (page URL, country-level location derived from IP and then discarded, device type). No persistent identifier is set, which is why this site shows no cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding aggregate site usage.

3.2 Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Web servers necessarily process IP addresses to deliver pages; Vercel retains standard server logs for a short period for security and abuse prevention. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3.3 Support email

If you contact support, we process your email address and the contents of your message to answer you. Support correspondence is deleted or anonymized when no longer needed, at the latest 24 months after the case is closed. Legal basis: legitimate interest / pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

4. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, plus the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. Contact info@wispframe.com to exercise any of these. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

5. Data transfers and retention

Website infrastructure (Vercel) may process data in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above; the app-side answer remains the simplest: we never had your data in the first place.

6. Children

The Services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly process their data.

7. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy here and update the date above. Material changes affecting subscribers will also be announced by email.
